I have kept the faith
2 Tim 4:7
Dear brothers and sisters,
As we approach the season of Lent, and as we all advance in age, we pray that this sharing of our life plan as we slowly move from Third Age to Fourth Age may inspire you to commence contemplating your own faith journey as you, like us, prepare for the inevitable final encounter with the Risen Lord.

Do not sin anymore
Jn 8:11
Dear brothers and sisters,
In John's Gospel (John 8:1-11) about the woman caught in adultery, Jesus is reported to have written on the ground not just once but twice. And for two thousand years, saints and scholars have speculated about what he wrote. Read the article and make your own speculation.

I will send you from the Father, the Spirit of truth that proceeds from the Father
Jn 15:26
Dear brothers and sisters,
Do you know that this verse from the Gospel of John is the central text involved in the Great Schism of 1054 that divided the Church into the Western Catholic Church and the Eastern Orthodox Church? When the Advocate comes whom I will send you from the Father, the Spirit of truth that proceeds from the Father, he will testify to me (Jn 15:26). Read this Letter.

Peace be with you
Jn 20:19
Dear brothers and sisters,
Peace be with you!
The risen Jesus gives his fearful disciples in a locked room (and also us with our locked hearts) three gifts: the gift of divine peace, the gift of a holy mission; and the gift of spiritual power.
May you receive these gifts as you reflect on this Letter.

How shall we escape if we ignore so great a salvation
Heb 2:3
Dear brothers and sisters,
With this reflection, we begin a series of reflections on The Letter to the Hebrews.
Among all the New Testament letters, we find Hebrews to be the most difficult to read and understand. And yet, it is regarded an eloquent document, one of the best written works of early Christianity … a magnificent work, treasured for centuries in the life of the church and well worth our effort to read and study carefully.
Happy reading.

That today you would hear his voice, harden not your hearts
Heb 3:7
Dear brothers and sisters,
The second warning in Heb 3:7-4:13 cautions about active hardening of the heart against God’s promises. We can avert spiritual hardness and enter God’s ultimate rest by honoring the legacy of the departed members of the community who held fast to their confession, heard God’s voice, and responded in holy obedience. To honor and preserve this legacy of faith, we must now develop qualified postulators to advance causes for beatification and canonization—sacred endeavors that span years and require exhaustive documentation. Inevitably, establishing a centralized postulation office staffed by multiple certified postulators will require significant financial resources. Hebrews thus warns against spiritual apathy and urges us to pray “that today you would hear his voice, harden not your hearts.”

Bring them to repentance again
Heb 6:4
Dear brothers and sisters,
We continue our reflections on the five warnings in the Letter to the Hebrews.
Hebrews 5:11-6:20 contains the third warning. The central verses contain the core message of the warning: 4For it is impossible in the case of those who have once been enlightened and tasted the heavenly gift and shared in the holy Spirit and 5tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, 6and then have fallen away, to bring them to repentance again, since they are recrucifying the Son of God for themselves and holding him up to contempt (Heb 6:4-6). In short, Hebrews warns that “it is impossible in the case of those who have once been enlightened … and then have fallen away, to bring them to repentance again.”

Remain in me
Jn 15:4
Dear brothers and sisters,
Our reflection on the 2027 theme begins with this paragraph:
It is with hearts full of joy and gratitude that we embrace the 2027 CFC theme: Abide in Christ. This theme is beautifully inspired by John 15:4-5, where Jesus proclaims: 4Remain in me, as I remain in you. Just as a branch cannot bear fruit on its own unless it remains on the vine, so neither can you unless you remain in me. 5I am the vine, you are the branches. Whoever remains in me and I in him will bear much fruit, because without me you can do nothing. We are immediately struck by how the core message – "remain in me as I remain in you" – is repeated three times within just two verses, highlighting its centrality to our faith.
We look forward to our theme weekend retreat in January 2027.

We are among those who have faith
Heb 10:39
Dear brothers and sisters,
Our reflection brings us to the fourth warning (Hebrews 10:26–39), an account that transitions from a stark, cautionary threat into an assurance of profound hope. While the events of Jean's 80th birthday do not fully align with the context of the fourth warning in Hebrews, we are delighted to share them with you. They “unveil a divine love that is beautiful yet fiercely holy” and mark a profound step in our “journey onward in faith, unto the saving of the soul.” Ultimately, they reinforce our conviction that “our truest devotion is forged and proven resilient in the quiet crucible of trials,” and thus “empowering us to withstand the fleeting afflictions of this world when our hearts are captivated by the assurance of a richer, everlasting inheritance in the heavens.”

Do not reject the one who speaks
Heb 12:25
Dear brothers and sisters,
We are pleased to share with you our reflection on the fifth and final warning in the Letter to the Hebrews. It contains the famous poem of C.T. Studd. Here is the first stanza:
Two little lines I heard one day, Traveling along life’s busy way;
Bringing conviction to my heart, And from my mind would not depart;
Only one life, ’twill soon be past, Only what’s done for Christ will last.
Happy reading and have a Spirit-filled reflection.

A great sign appeared
Rev 12:1
Dear brothers and sisters,
This Letter begins with: October unfolds as a sacred tapestry woven in honor of the Holy Rosary, a devotion deeply anchored in the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary on the 7th of October. This enduring tradition is born from a pivotal moment in history when faith altered the course of destiny. Please read and reflect on the rest of the Letter.
